'Tommy' as he was affectionately known (out of earshot) was my 'scale' Inspector for a number of years in the 1970's. He was fair minded, unlike some I could mention, and gave his direction and advice in a quiet but authoritative way with a willingness to help others. For a couple of years he managed the divisional football team and I am sure that like my self all the players in the team at that time will be sad to learn of his passing. My life has been better for having known and worked with him.
